The awesome folks at iA has just released Writer for OS X. This looks like a great application. This is probably the most efficient and simplest writing app yet. Seen some people complaining an the lack of preferences. iA’s reply to this was, among other wise words:

“Preferences are easy, design decisions are hard.”

It’s a bit pricey. It’s $17.99 in the Mac App Store. Compared to Writer for iPad, which is $0.99, that’s a lot. iA themselves claims that this is an entirely different application but i guess that’s not really true. Sure there are some new awesome features, like automatic Markdown-formatting but it’s more or less a very similar app. It’s worth every penny though. I’d argue that it is Writer for iPad that’s ridiculously cheap and not the other way around.
